Broad Arrow Auctions held it’s first-ever West Palm Beach Auction on November 18 and 19, wrapping-up the two-day event with a sales total of $10,174,432. A total of 182 lots crossed the block at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, with 117 of those sold to new owners for a 64% sell-through rate.

Taking top-sale honors was a 2016 Porsche 911 R at $500,000. An instant classic when released, the 911 R was finished in Porsche’s official “Communication Color” of White with Red stripes and featured more than $20k in additional options. The coupe was in showroom condition, having covered just 193 miles.

Right behind the 911 on the top sales list was another German icon — a 1981 BMW M1 that sold for $450,500. The orange-over-black coupe was one of 399 road-legal examples produced. Service work was performed recently, and a new BMW Groupe Classic windshield was installed.

Representing American makes in the top five sales were two GT350 fastbacks. The first, lot 2076, a 1965 Shelby GT350 sold for $410k and the second, lot 2072, a 1965 Shelby GT350 “Public Relations” Race Car made $373,500. Lot 2076 was number 151 of 521 street cars built in 1965 and had been expertly restored by Orlando Mustang. One of five cars used for public relations, lot 2072 was originally a standard GT350 but was converted to GT350R spec. Restored by Cobra Automotive in Connecticut, the Shelby is ready for vintage racing duties but is also registered for road use.

Rounding out the top five at $345k was another modern supercar — a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Roadster Final Edition with 4,240 miles on the odometer. One of 350 Final Edition SLS AMG coupes and roadsters built, the muscular drop-top was finished in beautiful Opal Red with a Black Designo Exclusive leather interior.
