Monterey Car Week is a car lover’s dream destination — and it’s a place where we’re seeing more and more demographic-based change as the years go by.
For the past several decades, Car Week has been largely focused on classic and veteran collector cars, alongside new car reveals from the OEMs. But over the past few years, an increasing number of modern-themed car events have entered the fray as well.
The newest is the tech-focused Monterey Motorsports Festival, which is scheduled to take place at the Monterey Fairgrounds and Events Center on Saturday, August 17-19 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
This event promises immersive experiences for tech and automotive enthusiasts, all of which built around an experiential festival atmosphere. It will include exotics, sports cars, retro and classic cars, muscle cars, race cars, classic and modern motorcycles and more on display.
The focus here is on the tech, however, and that includes demos and live workshops, driving simulators, electric and solar displays, future technologies as well as meet and greets with designers, founders, engineers and influencers in the auto space.
The main stage will feature live music and entertainment, while there will also be gourmet cuisine and a special bar area (as well as a kids’ entertainment area).
Tickets to the event are on sale now, with General Admission priced at $110, Young Adult (13-17) at $45 and Child (3-12) at $15. VIP Lounge Experience tickets are also available, priced at $265. There are discounts for Military, First Responder and Public Servants as well.
