Barrett-Jackson is gearing up for a return to its flagship WestWorld location in Scottsdale this October — and as part of this all-new all-no-reserve auction event, the company has announced that it will be offering a dozen vehicles from the David Ressler Collection. The majority of these cars are later-model Corvettes from the C4 generation — a model and era that’s seeing renewed interest in the collector car scene.
“Dave Ressler was a close friend and a generous person who was universally admired, and we’re proud to honor his legacy by offering 12 vehicles from his personal collection,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Dave’s passion for Corvettes is evident in the quality of the vehicles he curated during his career. The collection’s 10 Corvettes are incredibly well-preserved, like the 1978 Chevrolet Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition with only 1,537 miles. I’m honored that his family entrusted Barrett-Jackson with the care of these vehicles to offer to the next generation of collectors and preserve his legacy for many more years to come.”
“A self-made man, Dave worked his way up from being a bus driver and car salesman to arguably the most revered Corvette collector in our lifetime,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Philanthropy and giving back to the community were just as much a part of his DNA as is his hard work and dedication to his career. We look forward to selling these wonderful cars and putting them into the hands of their next caregivers.”
The 10 Corvettes being auctioned in October include a set of six consecutive C4 ZR-1 models from 1990 to 1995. This includes a 1993 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 40th Anniversary Edition (Lot #393.1). This car is the last ZR-1 off the line of 448 produced and shows only 40 miles on the odometer. A 1995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (Lot #394) with 73 miles and a 1994 model (Lot #393.2) with 124 miles are also included, and both are Bloomington Gold-certified.
Additional C4 ZR-1 models from 1990 to 1995 from the Ressler Collection include a 1992 model (Lot #393) with 79 miles, a 1991 model (Lot #392.2) with 134 miles and a 1990 model with 122 miles.
Four more Corvettes from Ressler’s collection include a 1987 (Lot #78.2) with 18,226 miles, a 1984 model (Lot #78.3) with 12,756 miles, a 1982 model (Lot #78.4) powered by a 350-horsepower Cross-Fire Injection engine with 20,183 miles, and a 25th Anniversary Edition (Lot #78.5) with only 1,537 miles — and it includes matching 25th Anniversary luggage.
The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction takes place from October 10-13 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, AZ.
